For those evenings where you just want to relax and not have to worry about cooking your own food then why not venture out to one of the many pubs and restaurants the local area has to offer. Below is a list of recommended local pubs and restaurants by Foxley Bank Stables:
Grindleton - Duke of York
The creeper-clad Duke of York dates back to at least 1863 and stands in the centre of the village of Grindleton, in the heart of the Ribble Valley, only a stone’s throw away from the A59 main Clitheroe to Skipton road.
This low-ceilinged inn, with its stone-flagged floors and nooks and crannies is under new ownership and has undergone a thorough but sympathetic refurbishment whilst retaining it’s traditional charms, giving it a new lease of life and a fresh outlook.

Clitheroe - The Emporium
Half coffee shop, wine bar and brasserie; half interior design superstore. The Emporium is genuinely unlike anywhere you have seen or been before; .Housed in an old Methodist Chapel, lavishly and lovingly converted to create three huge floors of eating, drinking and shopping, The Emporium is a haven from the mass production, hard sell ethos that has overtaken the rest of the world. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal and that's the way we like it.

Clitheroe - Olive Press
Each Olive Press has its own distinctive design features and Cliitheroe is certainly no exception, with the impressive interior creating an elegant yet relaxed dining environment. The blend of young, vibrant staff make this a friendly and welcoming experience. It is a great place for that family gathering, when you can let the children make their own pizza whilst you enjoy an appetiser or a starter from their extensive menu.

Waddington - Waddington Arms
Standing in the middle of the village from which it takes its name The Waddington Arms is very much at the heart of life in the fabulous Ribble Valley. It is the perfect place to eat, to drink, to sleep and most important for a village inn, it is also the perfect place to meet, relax and catch up with friends old and new. People tell us that it doesn’t look too bad either.

Waddington - The Lower Buck Inn
The Lower Buck is the easiest of the three Waddington pubs to miss, being located behind the church, rather than the main road through Waddington where the Upper Buck and Waddington Arms are located. (An old rule of thumb - where there's a church in a village, there's usually a pub nearby...)
It's well worth the visit, though, as it's a class little pub.

West Bradford - 3 millstones
The 3 Millstones is a grade II listed building and is one of the oldest in the village. Situated in the picturesque village of West Bradford we are easy to find being only minuets away from Clitheroe and the A59.
In recent years the Millstones had suffered somewhat from neglect and was purchased by Theresa and Philip Walsh in the summer of 2006. An extensive program of restoration and extension was embarked upon; this included substantial improvements to the kitchen. This was considered essential if a high standard of food production was to be attained.
